 I've always enjoyed writing poetry. I feel that there's more freedom in verse than there is in any other form of creative writing, meaning that I don't feel stifled. I can write whatever I like, and if it doesn't make sense to anybody else it doesn't matter!

The mood I'm in when I write will determine whether my work is serious or light-hearted. I do have a passion for odes, probably inspired by Pam Ayres whom I loved to listen to as a child, so they will probably feature here more than any other type of verse. Where inspiration allows, some of them will be illustrated too.

I doubt very much that everything I publish will appeal to every visitor, but if you leave with one of my poems firmly lodged in your mind, then it makes putting all of them online worth while.
